How does it work?
- The signer/company contacts the Notary to request a remote online notarization.
- The document is uploaded in an electronic format (e.g., PDF) to the notary.
- The notary will upload the document to the secured online technology provider.
- The Notary verifies signer identities through live video chat.
- The documents are signed and stamped digitally.
- The process is recorded using a secure audio-video platform.
- The notary delivers the completed notarized document to the client.
System Requirements
- Each signer must use a device (computer/laptop/tablet) with a web camera and microphone so that the notary and the signers are able to communicate clearly.
- A strong internet connection is needed. It is best to connect with Google Chrome.
- Each signer must have separate email addresses. An email will be sent to each signer that will contain a link to join the online notary room.
- Valid Identification
Identity Verification
Florida requires a 2-Step Identity Verification Process OR the use of Biometric Verification.
- Credential Analysis-photo ID is uploaded.
- Knowledge-Based Authentications (KBA)
- KBA: You will need to pass an Identity verification process called Knowledge-Based Authentication. These are a series of 5 questions that are generated by a third party. These are questions that only you would know the answers to. You must answer at least 4 of the questions correctly within 2 minutes.
